Petaluma is one of the oldest cities in California. The downtown area has been preserved with many Victoria homes and bungalows. With about 56,000 residents, Petaluma sits on the Petaluma River, in the heart of fertile farmland.

With its large stock of historic buildings, Petaluma has been used as the filming location for numerous movies set in the 1940's, '50's, and '60's such as "American Graffiti" and "Pleasantville".

Once the largest egg producing region in the country, the land surrounding it has largely been given over to small farms and vineyards. The town has had a strict slow-growth policy since the 1970's and today is home to some of the most desirable real estate in Northern California.
