Sitting at the foot of Sonoma Mountain is the small town of Penngrove. It is located between Petaluma and Cotati at the intersection of Old Redwood Highway and Petaluma Hill Road.
Built near the remnants of a historic grove of trees (may have been Olives, or maybe Oaks), called Penn's Grove, it was previously a northbay rail freight station as well as a center for egg and chicken farming, much like Petaluma.
